When you are having a baby shower for a relative, friend or coworker, you can decorate the party space with easy decorations. Here are several easy decorations for your first baby shower.
Decoration 1: Banners and Streamers
When you visit a party store, you can find a variety of colorful streamers and banners that have designs or slogans. If you know the gender of the new baby, then you can select pink or blue for the banners and streamers. When you don’t know if the expected infant is a girl or boy, you can buy items that are green or yellow instead. Some specialty party stores will customize streamers and banners with the baby’s name or other information.
Decoration 2: Baby Bottles Tied With Ribbons
If you are looking for an easy tabletop decoration, then buy inexpensive baby bottles that have colorful designs on the exterior. Look for soft velvet or satin ribbons to tie around a group of baby bottles. You can place these decorative items on the centers of the tables, and the expectant mother can take the baby bottles home to use.
Decoration 3: Use Balloons For the Baby Shower
While you are at the party store, buy beautiful balloons. Have the balloons filled with helium before attaching long strings to the items. At the end of the strings, you can tie small items needed for the new baby, including rattles, diaper pins or pacifiers. You can let the balloons float to the ceiling over the tables or along the edge of the room where guests aren’t walking.
Decoration 4: Make Decorative Diaper Cakes
Use inexpensive cake stands that have one or more tiers to make diaper cakes. Roll each cloth diaper so that you can tie it with a ribbon in a color such as pink, yellow or blue. Set the cake stands on the tables before placing the diapers on the different tiers in a decorative way.
Decoration 5: Use Baby Blocks As a Decoration
Look for colorful plastic or wooden baby blocks to use as a decoration on the tables. You can spell words with the baby blocks. Stores that sell items for babies may also customize the blocks so that you can spell the new infant’s name. The new mother can take the blocks home so that her child will have a toy to play with as a toddler.
Decoration 6: Place Baby Blankets On the Tables
Rather than using traditional tablecloths at a baby shower, you can use baby blankets on the tables. Look for inexpensive flannel blankets or have someone knit a blanket. These are items that the mother can take home after the baby shower ends.
